Hath God Said?
There is ample debate over whether or not Eve lied or added to the word of God saying, “nor shall you touch it” when speaking with the serpent (Satan) about the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Now
the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord
God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You
shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the
serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the
fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said,
‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Then the
serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that
in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5)
There are many more aspects of this debate that do not merit mention and only serve to redirect everyone’s attention away from the core lesson of truth.
There were indeed three simultaneous sins committed. Disobedience to God’s command not to eat of the fruit, actually eating of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the desire of their hearts to Be Like God.
Satan’s Perversion
All of this debate is just semantics hiding the truth to the root of the sin – which is wanting to Be Like God. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:5)
Satan would like everyone to get caught up in a useless debate over all of the peripheral aspects that led to sin.
This disobedience and eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil stems from the covetous desire to Be Like God.
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. (Genesis 3:6)
Satan, Adam, and Eve were all there together and they were all guilty of the exact same sin. The desire to Be Like God!
This is the very sin that caused the fall of Satan. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. (Isaiah 14:14)
Satan wants theologians, Christians, preachers, and even atheist to get caught up on placing the blame on someone or something else other than learning the truth. The guilty truth of the jealous and covetous nature of Satan, Adam, and Eve to Be Like God!
Satan put forth Eve’s desire. Adam and Eve fell prey to the same desire that caused the fall of both Satan and Man.
The Fall Continues
Mankind still continues to perpetuate the covetous sin and desire to Be Like God. Christians, various religions, and the secular world continues trying to Be Like God. Continuing to put words in God’s mouth and acting as replacements for God and his Word.
And
the Lord said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not
sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a
false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their
heart. (Jeremiah 14:14)
“I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ (Jeremiah 23:25)
“Beware
of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly
they are ravenous wolves. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of
heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say
to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name,
cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And
then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who
practice lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:15,20-23)
And
He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My
name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do
not go after them.” (Luke 21:8), (Mark 13:6), (Matthew 24:5)
Who Said?
This leads me back to the original question behind Man’s original group sin.
Hath God Said?
Hath God Said?
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
Satan is influencing the world into embracing a perverted false one world religion. Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” (Revelation 17:1)
The secular world is lost and gullible. Willing to believe the seducing lies of Satan. Satan started this deception in the Garden of Eden. This all started with a seemingly innocent question, “Hath God Said?”
This is how it started and this is how it is going to end. The world right now is heading towards an end-times scenario where Satan screams the same seduction, enticing mankind to question the word of God. This creates confusion and anger over who God is; and what Hath God Said?
Right now in this world there are 10 Martyrs a Day! Right now there are radical religious groups seduced by Satan into false god’s and beliefs. Right now ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) is drunk with the blood of the Saints. Many are drawn into the seduction of ISIS and breaking any and all laws to join their ranks. The truly sad part is…, it is not just Syria.
North Korea, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Pakistan, Iran, Yemen, Sudan, Eritrea, Libya, and Nigeria are among the worlds leading countries actively seeking a blood lust of the Saints. Believers are martyred and their persecutors rewarded in the name of false god’s and religions.
And
I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the
blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great
admiration. (Revelation 17:6)
Deceived
Satan is relentless in his deception. Satan deceives people into this lust for blood and power. Romanticizing false religion’s and miraculous deeds to ensnare all by asking the question, “Hath God Said?”
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)
Eve should have listened to herself when she said, “Nor shall you touch it.” And Adam should have agreed.
Let
us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His
commandments, For this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into
judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)
