Becoming A Well Balanced Believer

Becoming A Well Balanced Believer

Do you really know yourself? Would you say that you are physically, spiritually, and emotionally well-balanced? Are you secure enough to say, “You feed on a healthy diet that nurtures your spirit, soul, and body?”

I look around me and constantly see believers who are spiritually malnourished, emaciated in their souls, and physically oppressed.

I believe the reason so many people are walking around with anemic lives is because they do not truly understand the diversity, yet interdependence between the spirit, soul, and body.

God’s Word makes a very clear distinction between the soul, spirit, and the body…..

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

To become a well-balanced Believer it is crucial to understand the diversity, yet interdependence between the spirit, soul, and body.

Read and Remember this phrase:
Your spirit is housed in a soul clothed in a body.

When we are saved, it is our spirit that is made new. Your mind (soul) must still be renewed. Your soul is made of your mind, self-will, and emotions that must be renewed by reading, understanding, and then implementing scriptural truths.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)

Make the Connection

As a Believer you must learn to connect your soul to your spirit to live in kingdom dynamics. Your body will then do and react to what your mind and spirit agree upon. Harmonizing the spirit, soul, and body allows a well-balanced and blessed life. This is only accomplished by seeking a method or lifestyle for living; known as the kingdom of God.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21)

When we accept Christ, our spirits become brand new. We are a completely new created person, we are born of God, and we are made alive within God.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Scriptures tell us that the old man in us has died with Christ, and that we are raised to a new life through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. This is a spiritual reflection of the physical death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ.

Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. (Romans 6:2-6)

Believers must live in and by this new created spirit. Seeking and allowing this new Spirit filled immortal you to be the guide. Allowing your mind to be renewed by trusting in the Holy Spirit. No longer trusting in your ‘old man’ ‘old you’ feelings, thinking, and ways.

 Satan’s Perversion

Satan does not want Christians to understand these principles. Satan certainly does not want you to understand what it means to be led by your spirit and your renewed soul.

Satan does not want your body to enjoy the health and healing obtained by Harmonizing your spirit, soul, and body.

Satan does not want you to enjoy walking in the blessings God’s word promises you. (Matthew 6:33)

Satan does not want you to be a powerful witness that draws sinners to salvation. (Proverbs 20:27)

Satan tries to stunt the growth of Believers. Convincing most that getting saved is enough. There is no need to renew your mind and become sanctified. Satan says, “You can still hang out with me and my friends.”

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:30-31)

This is why so many believers can continue to struggle with sin even after accepting Christ. Their souls still contain the sin and shame that needs to be removed and washed clean. (Ephesians 5:26)

Transformation and Renewal

Your wisdom knowledge through your new spirit man teaches your soul how to die to sin, and then raises a new created you, to a new life through Christ Jesus in His Church Family. Our souls (that is, our mind, will and emotions) still need to be transformed and purified by the washing of the Word.

that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, (Ephesians 5:26)

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, (1 Peter 1:22-23)

Soul Poverty

I see a lot of Believers who work really hard to become rich in their spirit but their soul still lives in poverty. This is because they have not gained a full understanding that:

Your spirit is housed in a soul clothed in a body.

Your mind must be renewed and convinced to walk in the power of Christ. The Christ ‘in you’ can and will do, what the presence of Christ did while He walked on the Earth in the Flesh.

Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. (John 5:19)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (John 14:12)

This shows us the reflection of the spiritual into the physical. Jesus became a physical reflection of a spiritual God the Father. We in turn, become a reflection of Jesus the Christ. We like Jesus are made in the image of God.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)

These same spiritual to physical reflections are evidenced in our own offspring. Our children take on the attributes of their male and female parents.

These dynamics are further evidenced in the lives of those successful people who walk in/by the spirit with a renewed mind. Enjoying all of the spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial blessings recorded in scriptures as heirs of God.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)

These are the same dynamics that Satan obscures from others who continue to struggle in their repeat sins. Keeping Believers in a repetitive self-imposed loop of bondage
.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? (Galatians 4:6-9)

So you might ask, “What is the answer, or How do I enjoy a successful Christian life?” In short, the answer is Believe all of God’s Word with every fiber of your being; Spirit, Soul, and Body.

The realization of this inheritance starts by first seeking to know and love God, and His Word.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

The materialization comes to fruition when you connect your soul to your spirit in an inseparable walk in kingdom dynamics with Jesus Christ.

nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)
