Jesus Invites You to Supper
If you have been following along with me on the last few articles; you have had the privilege of spending the day with Jesus.Just encase you need to catch up you can read the following articles.
We have learned the importance, the honor, and the wonderful Love and Joy of sharing our day and lives with Jesus. We know the value of a constant moment by moment relationship walking with Him.
We have had breakfast and lunch, and now finally we get to know Jesus better through His invitation to Supper.
Your Invitation
The first thing to mention in this text, is Jesus’ Last Supper with the disciples. This was a meal just before Jesus’ crucifixion. This is your formal invitation to the most important supper of all eternity. This is your invitation to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.
Jesus is headed to the cross to die for your sins by becoming the Passover lamb, shedding His blood for the remission of yours; and all of mankind’s sins forever. He is your ticket paid in full. An invitation to Salvation and the Wedding Supper of the Lamb. (Revelation 19:7-9)
The Last Supper was an early Passover meal eaten with the Disciples. Jesus had foreknowledge of His death in just two days. Jesus knew they must dine early before the slaying of the Him and the Passover lambs on Nisan 14.
“You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.” (Matthew 26:2)
This is why Jesus showed them the representations of His flesh and blood to bread and wine. He established what we refer to as the Holy Communion or Lord’s Supper.
This is an invitation to partake of Jesus and believe on what He has to offer, through His death, burial, and resurrection. This is how you accept your invitation to the Wedding Supper of The Lamb.
Let
us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb
has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was
granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine
linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write:
‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’”
And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” (Revelation 19:7-9)
The Perversion
Satan once again is determined to pervert scripture. Satan has believers Waring over whether the wedding supper is before the millennial reign or after. Whether it is in Heaven in the air or the New Jerusalem Heaven on Earth. This is ‘ALL THEOLOGY’
This war of theology does not matter when it comes down to the fact that you must first accept your invitation to the wedding.
Salvation is the ticket. Jesus paid the price on the cross. It truly does not matter when it happens. What matters is that; It will happen.
Ignore Satan and let God’s word tell your heart the truth.
This verse shows us Jesus presenting the finished product of his Kingdom Work to God the Father. Then comes a wedding!
I wrote and article called At First Light . This article explains how the bible ends the way it begins, with God as the Light.
In like manner; I would like to point out; yet another Harmony of Scripture, that once again unites the Old/New Testaments. Through The First and Last Wedding Miracles.
First Wedding Miracle
Jesus’ first miracle was at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. This is when Jesus turned water into wine. Jesus stated to his mother in verse four, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” (John 2:1-11)
Take note: This wedding took place during the springtime Passover season. This was approximately six months after the grape harvest. It took a lot less work to let grape juice ferment. It takes much more effort and work to constantly keep filtering and tending it, to keep it from tasting old and decayed from fermentation.
In the world of the New Testament times the best wines were those whose alcoholic potency had been removed or greatly reduced by boiling and filtration methods.
In verse ten the master of the wedding feast says, “You have kept the good wine until now!”
Some ancient authors, “Pliny, Plutarch and Horace describe wine as good, or mention the best wine to which was harmless or innocent—poculis vini innocentis.
Gaius Plinius Secundus, aka “Pliny the Elder.” Pliny the Elder was a Roman author and natural explorer and philosopher in the 1st century AD. He is maybe best known, for writing Naturalis Historia (Natural History), an extremely influential ancient encyclopedia. Pliny, could also be considered a sort of ancient “wine critic.”
Pliny, says that “wines are most beneficial (utilissimum) when all their potency has been removed by the strainer.”
We know the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus during The Last Supper as an early Passover meal. This was the same Passover time of year as the wedding in Cana of Galilee.
I have established that it was most certainly, new wine that Jesus made the water into; and undoubtedly the same wine served at His own Last meal before His death. Jesus went to the cross sober and without sin.
Jesus therefore represents his blood as pure as the new wine of the grape. His body like the blood would not decay and age like old wine or death. Jesus’ blood as the wine of our salvation communion.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” (Matthew 26:26-29)
Jesus said, “I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” We have learned this will happen when Jesus delivers the finished product of his Kingdom Work over to God. (1 Corinthians 15:24-28)
Last Wedding Miracle
We know this is a ‘Future’ supper for the redeemed in Christ. The Wedding Supper of The Lamb. The ultimate celebration of what is promised and is forever Holy. (Revelation 19:7-9)
Just like at the first wedding miracle in Canan to the last wedding miracle of the Lamb. Jesus is the Miracle Wine as promised through the crucifixion miracle of shedding of His miraculous salvation blood on the Cross.
Thank you Jesus! For saving the best new wine for last!
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
