Breakfast with God
As
a Christian you receive from God certain tools for your job. These are
called the Gifts of the Spirit. We show up for work and clock in through
prayer. One of the perks of this job is every day starts enjoying
breakfast with God.Breakfast starts with God outlining each days purpose and goals. Breakfast continues with the Holy Spirit equipping, instructing, and teaching us exactly how to achieve our daily objectives. This is where the Holy Spirit gives us the necessary tools or Gifts for success.
After Breakfast Jesus takes us in stride to walk with us and intercede in case any troubles should arise. This is provided that you have even bothered to show up for work and feast at Gods Table.
Tooling Up
There are three primary scriptural passages which list and describe these gifts (Romans 12:6-8), (1 Corinthians 12:4-11), and (1 Corinthians 12:28).The Book of Romans lists prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leadership, and mercy.
Next; two passages in 1 Corinthians gives us some additional gifts. Chapter 12 verses 4-11 includes the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues.
Verse 18 lists healings, helps, administrations, and lastly the varieties of tongues.
These giftings; which are your tools, are ever present and can change as your job and functional purpose in daily life matures in the Lord. It is through this close personal relationship we become an effective witness for Jesus.
Can you see, that it is essential we check in with the ‘Big Boss’ so we get equipped with the right tools for each days endeavors?
The Perversion
Satan’s perversion is to convince Believers they don’t have time to pray, or are unworthy of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. THIS IS A LIE!Review the gifts listed above. Let the Holy Spirit speak into your heart the wisdom to realize Your Own Gifts. We all have a job to do and are equally important to God. Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. (Acts 10:34)
So many Christians get caught up in a hectic morning routine. A frantic rush to get everyone and everything ready, (in the nick of time) so as not to be late to school, work, or other pressing matters of the day. So busy that their own spiritual health and relationship with Jesus is left waning.
If you must: Wake up a little bit earlier and feed your soul. This time of refreshment will not only benefit you; but, everyone you come into contact with. Respect yourself and your relationship with God enough to say, “Good morning I love you.”
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
Daily Bread
Through the power of the Holy Spirit we are given the abilities we need to live our lives from day to day. Daily we are equipped to do our Christian job. Give us this day our daily bread. (Matthew 6:11)
This ‘Daily Bread’ is breakfast for your mind, body, and soul.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.(Galatians 5:25)
These are the same people who blame God for everything. They have walked so far away from God, they have changed zip-codes without even leaving a forwarding address. Sadly, it takes some kind of tragedy for them to; once again, run to God and PRAY.
Our actions through obedience invoke and release the Holy Spirit to come along side your own freewill. Your obedience in harmony with God’s ultimate plan guarantees a fulfilling life . A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)
Whether you realize it or not you are going to do what God has ordained. Why wouldn’t you want to be fulfilled and happy in the course of your life? The world may be going to ‘Hell in a Handbasket.’ but that doesn’t mean you have to help carry the basket. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30)
POWER
I challenge you: Do something you know is beyond your understanding and capacity and watch the Lord intercede. The Holy Spirit will show up with the right word, power, and gifts. Go ahead, and Step out in Faith.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John 14:26)
Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:3-4)
This anointing of the Holy Spirit is permanent and complete. The 120 at Pentecost never went back asking for more or another dose. Everyone was fully and permanently anointed and equipped to do God’s will.
Walk in the Spirit
Their weaknesses were made perfect in the Lord. Your weaknesses attract the power of the Holy Spirit because, you are the type of person truly dependent upon doing it Gods way. Not; the way of those who let their own selfish flesh and desires bolster their pride. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
The Holy Spirit can more readily us someone who will step out in unquestionable faith; as opposed to, the puffed up and prideful who tend to over-analyze the administration of God.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)
Trust
When you are lead by the Holy Spirit you can rest assured that your work is never in vain. You can know that you are truly making a difference. Trusting in the guidance of the Holy Spirit makes a real impact on both the physical and spiritual realms. Which includes the secular world and the spiritual Kingdom of God.However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (John 16:13)
Fruits
To solely focus on the Gifts of the Spirit is useless. These Gifts are given and used to bear good fruit. There are way to many ‘Christians’ who only focus on the feel good side of God. Caught up in religion instead of relation with God.Your gifts are used to bear good fruit for all to share. Your own unique and special fruit helps to feed the whole body of Christ. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. (John 15:8)
We as believers are known individually by our fruit. Together, Believers share fruits with each other as well as with the unrepentant sinner, consummating the ultimate goal of the Church through Salvation and Redemption in Heaven. Just as you could say, the fruit of the sin of murder leads to prison and immortal death in Hell.
“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.” (Matthew 12:33)
Growth and Renewal
These fruits of the Spirit are only produced as a Believer walks in the anointing waters of the Holy Spirit. Basking in the radiance of God. Nourished by Jesus as the vine on which our life bearing fruits grow. And pruned by God the Gardener of the entire harvest.“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. (John 15:1-8)
By walking in and with the Holy Spirit we learn our nature to nurture to make new. This is how we become aware of our sins. Allowing us to be made new in deeds and thoughts. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
By opening our hearts and minds we allow and give our self-will permission to the Holy Spirit to do a great work on the renewal of our flesh, minds, and inner saved self. This process in also know as sanctification. This process can be uncomfortable even ‘down right’ painful at times. Just know; every step you take with Jesus, is leading you on a path of righteousness and spiritual maturity.
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11)
The fruits of true Salvation, lead to a life fulfilled and content. A life not wasted, productive, fruitful, and most of all full of Love. Given freely by God through the Holy Spirit and the finished work of Jesus the Christ on the Cross. (John 19:30)
The next time you wake-up for no apparent reason. The next morning you have a burning desire left empty in your soul. The next time you wake still sleepy, tired, and weary PRAY! (Isaiah 50:4)
Don’t miss your invitation to Breakfast with God.
Jesus said to them,
“Come and eat breakfast.”
Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him,
“Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord.
Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them,
and likewise the fish.
