Spiritual Division
I can not understand how someone can be a true follower of Jesus and throw out half of what He said. Isn’t that like someone nodding their head and saying, “Uh-huh.” When you know their not really listening.This kind of behavior can leave a person thinking that the other person is unwilling to engage in meaningful conversation. Or… Just blatantly ignoring you and too self absorbed in themselves to listen.
So many times, I talk to people about the Sabbath really being on Saturday, or of the importance of studying the Old Testament to have a balance diet to feed on scriptural understanding. I usually get a predictable response.
More often than not, the reply is the same. “Yea Yea’ I know, but!” “Blah blah blah.” This is where you can enter your own excuses or one you may have heard. Or whatever the reason, for being disobedient to the Lord.
This is how we treat God. People go to Church on Sunday knowing that mankind namely the ‘Catholic Religion’ changed it. People say to God, “Yea yea, I know but; This is the weekend and everyone has done it this way for years, we would have to revamp everything. We would literally tear the fabric of the Church’s social structure apart to change it back.”
God’s answer is, “So What.” I mean, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy!”
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
In
it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your
male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your
stranger who is within your gates.”
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.
Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
In the year 325 A.D., The Catholic bishop (later known as Pope) Sylvester I officially named Sunday “the Lord’s Day,” This is known as the great 321 Edict.
Pope Sylvester also said, “If every Sunday is to be observed joyfully by the Christians on account of the resurrection, then every Sabbath on account of the burial is to be execration (loathing or cursing) of the Jews.”–quoted by S. R. E. Humbert, Adversus Graecorum calumnias 6, in Patrologie Cursus Completus, Series Latina, ed. J.P. Migne, 1844, p. 143.
Now you know, how this Evil perversion was injected into the Sabbath.
This change from Saturday to Sunday was later confirmed at a council of Bishops at the Council of Laodicea (363 A.D.) stating; “Christians must not Judaize by resting on the Sabbath”…referencing Saturday.
Furthermore; In the year 338 in A.D., Eusebius, who was the court bishop of Constantine, wrote, “All things whatsoever that it was the duty to do on the Sabbath (the seventh day of the week) we (Constantine, Eusebius, and other bishops) have transferred to the Lord’s Day (the first day of the week) as more appropriately belonging to it.”
Satan did not stop there. He got man to separate the Old and New Testaments based on a perversion similar to calendar dates B.C. And A. D.
This division is basically “before Christ” and “after Christ.” Commonly referred to as Old Covenant and New Covenant or Testaments.
He convinced the religious sects of the earth to stand solely on the New testament through a perversion of scriptures like this…
Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:20)
Through these successful perversions church leaders have now exalted themselves to the place of God. Thinking they know better than God. This is in essence the spirit of the Antichrist.
Who
opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is
worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself
that he is God.
These spiritual divisions are a slap in the face to God.
I even run into the legalistic side of believers; those who know the truths of the bible but, still want to put God in a box that fits their own dietary scriptural food program. To meet their own self prescribed needs. This in its own way is a self inflicted division through legalism.
For example, this website is called SomeJesusThings.com I run into the legalistic crowd who says, “Kurt, you do know that the real name of Jesus is Yeshua, don’t you?”
This is when I feel like saying, “Uh-huh.” or, “Duh.”
While this is correct; Saying Yeshua is the Hebrew name for the Lord.
When Mary was pregnant with the Son of God, the Angel of Yahweh told Joseph to give her offspring a name that meant “he (Yahweh) shall save his people” (Matthew 1:21).
“He saves” is precisely what Yeshua means.
Yeshua in Strong’s Concordance is #3442, the shortened form of #3091 (Yehoshua), which is defined as coming from #3068 (Yahweh) and #3467 (yasha), which means “to save.”
Yehoshua is a combination of Yahweh and yasha. Yeshua, the contraction of Yehoshua, means “He (Yahweh) saves.”
(Exodus 3:14-15), God chose Yahweh to be His memorial name to all generations. Yeshua, meaning Yahweh saves, best memorializes the name Yahweh in its meaning.
The ‘English’ spelling of Yeshua is really “Joshua.” However, when it is translated from Hebrew into the Greek language of the New Testament, the name Yeshua becomes Iēsous.
Which leads to the English spelling for Iēsous being “Jesus.” I speak English; however, Yeshua is His legal given name and it sounds cool too!
In reality, I could call Jesus ‘Bread’ or ‘Water.’ As long as it is with respect and used as a term of endearment and not misused in vain. (Exodus 20:7)
And
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall
never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:35)
“For
My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain
of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can
hold no water. (Jeremiah 2:13)
This verse in (James 4:17) means once one knows the truth, then ignorance is no longer an excuse. This translates to; It is a sin to follow along with the crowd and throw half of the Bible out the window and only ‘do’ God when and how it is convenient, like practically everyone else!
It was Tertullian, A second century “Father of the Roman Church,” who was the first to use the terms Vetus Testamentum or Old Testament and Novum Testamentum or New Testament. This was in the beginnings of Catholicism.
Satan’s perversion is through this now regrettable use of the terms “Old” and “New” (Testaments) which have resulted in the utmost seriousness of consequences. This was a Satanic perversion with a lasting ripple effect perpetrated by Tertullian.
The very thought of an Old Testament suggest that it is worn out and no longer of value since there is this New way of salvation covenant as a Testament Testified in the very own words of Jesus!
The Old Testament does contain 39 books relating to the old covenant between Yahweh and Israel and foreshadows the coming of Jesus.
Therefore
the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall
conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Emmanuel.(Isaiah 7:14)
“But
you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of
Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in
Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)
There
is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is
neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that
God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart
one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation.
In fact! Au contraire, the bible testifies a warning against it!
If
a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a
house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan
has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has
an end. (Mark 3:24-26)
